11 Mar What we’ve been up to at the Palace Hotel…
It’s been a long winter at the Palace Hotel since the nation’s hospitality industry effectively shut down at the end of December 2020. Whilst we’ve continued to offer accommodation for essential and business purposes, the Palace Diner, Front Room restaurant and Lounge Bar have been closed to the public with no weddings or events able to go ahead in the hotel.
With our local customers unable to dine at the Palace Hotel, we decided to bring the Palace to them. For the first time we have been offering a takeaway service including some of your Palace favourites like our chicken fajitas and steak pie & mash. We’d like to thank all of you who have continued to support us during this period, and we hope to carry this service on through the coming months.
During the lockdown, we have also been working on refreshing our brand and working on our website and social media channels so that we can keep our customers better informed. You can follow us on Facebook here and Instagram here where we will be sharing regular news updates, promotions and competitions.
Some of you may have visited us recently for your COVID-19 vaccine. Back in February, as the NHS began its mass rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine, we agreed the use of our ballroom as a vaccination centre. This is kept separate to the hotel and our guests, with the public using their own entrance directly in and out of the ballroom. Thank you to everyone working so hard in the vaccine centre to help keep us safe.
We’re very excited to be welcoming you all back to the hotel as restrictions continue to ease. On April 26th, we reopened our Front Room restaurant where we will be serving a reduced Palace Diner menu and soft drinks until 8pm, please note alcohol is not permitted indoors until 17 May.
With the current COVID-19 restrictions giving more flexibility to outdoor areas we’re also delighted to be opening our new outdoor space, The Pavilion, where we will be serving meals, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages by reservation only. We think it will be a great addition to the town as we come into the warmer summer months – we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the sun!
